Traveling sustainably and in an environmentally conscious way. That's what Kathi and Basti are trying to do on their five-week trip through Europe. From beach clean-ups to wild camping and sustainable food, the two are trying to travel as sustainably and environmentally friendly as possible. Ari is there with them and does the reality check - is environmentally conscious and sustainable travel really possible? Traveling sustainably, avoiding long flights and doing something good at the same time - that's what Instagram couple Katharina Maier and Sebastian Oelmann are trying to do. The two are passionate surfers and try to travel as sustainably as possible on their holidays. The weekly beach clean-up is therefore part of every holiday. Equipped with gloves and garbage bags, they try to clear the beaches where they surf, especially of plastic waste. In the middle of it all is Ariane Alter, who helps them with the beach clean-up in the new PULS report. But a beach clean-up alone is not enough. There is more to sustainable travel than just a beach clean-up. Equally important is environmentally friendly sleeping and camping. To relieve the pressure on tourist areas, Kathi and Basti rely on wild camping in nature. And to protect the surrounding nature, they leave no rubbish behind in the places where they wild camp. In their motorhome they have everything they need for self-sufficient and minimalist travel. This includes the DIY shower as well as sustainable toileting. If you surf a lot on vacation like Kathi and Basti, you naturally have to eat a lot. And it's best to do so sustainably, ecologically and fairly. To buy sustainable food, they avoid large supermarkets and go to small local grocery stores to ensure sustainable tourism. They try to live and shop as plastic-free as possible, carry their backpacks with them and avoid unnecessary plastic packaging. Anyone who has the goal of traveling sustainably and promoting sustainable tourism needs a lot of initiative. Initiative that Kathi and Basti are happy to show for their environmentally conscious vacation. What that looks like in practice and how relaxing a vacation really is is what Ari tries to find out in the new PULS report. ----------------------------------------------------------- PULS report: NOW ON INSTAGRAM!
