Surah al-Qasas Tafseer 1 Pharaohs and the Poor Halis Bayancuk Hodja (Abu Hanzala) Surah al-Qasas Tafseer 1-5 In the 1st lesson of Surah al-Qasas Tafseer, the questions of what we should understand from Surah al-Qasas and how the Pharaohs oppressed people are answered by Halis Hodja (Abu Hanzala). The question of whether today's society resembles the Quraysh polytheists or the Israelites to whom Moses (pbuh) was sent is answered with verses and hadiths. Introduction Before the Tafseer of Surah al-Qasas Surah al-Qasas is a Meccan surah. Muslims experienced their weakest period during the period when this surah was revealed. It was a period when the polytheists' insolence, their attacks on Muslims, and their verbal and physical torment turned into threats. It is conveyed that today we are going through a period in which world unbelief is becoming increasingly violent and attacking Muslims who are oppressed, and it is explained that in order to find the answer to the question of ‘What will we do? ’ we need to understand and live the verses of Surah al-Qasas as if they were revealed to us. The verses read for the 1st lesson of the Tafsir of Surah al-Qasas are Ta, Sin, Mim. (28/Qasas, 1) These are verses of the clear/explanatory Book. (28/Qasas, 2) We recite to you a part of the story of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for a people who believe. (28/Qasas, 3) Indeed, Pharaoh assumed authority in the earth. He divided its people into groups and weakened a part of them, slaughtering their male children and keeping their females alive. Because, he was of the mischief-makers. (28/Qasas, 4) We want to do good to those who are left weak on earth, to make them imams (who are followed) and to make them heirs (to the earth). (28/Qasas, 5) Pharaohs constantly divide society based on race, income level, social status and professional groups. As society divides, it becomes hostile to each other and weakens. The individuals of a society that is divided, divided and divided look for a savior for security and peace. That savior is Pharaoh... However, Allah (swt) wants to integrate people with the belief in monotheism, paint them with the paint of Islam and to put aside all artificial identities and accept Islam as the main identity. He wants the societies that achieve this to be the heirs and imams of the earth with the belief in monotheism and the morality of justice.
