Give them the example of two men. We gave to one of them two gardens of grapes, and We surrounded the gardens with date palms, and We made crops grow between the two gardens. (18/Kahf, 32) 33. And each garden yielded its fruit in full, and We left nothing out, and We caused a river to gush out from between them. (18/Kahf, 33) 34. And he had wealth. While he was talking to his friend, he said, “My wealth is more than you and I am more powerful than you in number.” (18/Al-Kahf, 34) 35. (Thus) he entered his garden, wronging himself and said, “I do not think that this place will perish forever.” (18/Al-Kahf, 35) 36. “I do not think that the Hour will come. If I am returned to my Lord, I will surely find a better place of return than this.” (18/Al-Kahf, 36) One of the common characteristics of the polytheists is this: They misunderstand the blessings that Allah (swt) has bestowed as a test and think that they are valuable people/society in the sight of Allah (swt). They think that if Allah (swt) did not love us and was not pleased with our condition, He would not have given us so many blessings. (See 34/Saba’, 34-37) However; The increase in blessings while rebelling against Allah (swt) is istidraj, that is, the individual or society being brought closer to punishment step by step. (See 6/An’am, 44-45) 37. His friend said to him while he was talking to him: “Or did you disbelieve in Him who created you from dust, then from a drop of semen, then made you a complete man?” (18/Kahf, 37) 38. “But He is Allah, my Lord, and I do not associate anything with my Lord.” (18/Kahf, 38) 39. “Why did you not say when you entered your garden, ‘Mashallah! There is no power except with Allah!’ If you consider me less than you in wealth and children?” (18/39) 40. “Perhaps my Lord will give me a garden better than yours, and He will send upon it a scourge from the sky, and it will become a slippery land.” (18/40) 41. “Or its water will sink into the depths of the earth, and you will not be able to find it.” (18/41) 42. (Suddenly) all its fruits were beset by them. He began to rub his hands in grief for what he had spent therein, and its roof had caved in on him. And he said, “I wish I had not associated anything with my Lord.” (18/42) 43. He had no community to help him besides Allah, and he could not help himself. (18/Al-Kahf, 43) 44. Here, the guardianship/help/authority belongs to Allah, the Truth. (Only He can help.) He is the best in terms of reward and the result.
