A 33-year-old man is cultivating shiitake mushrooms on logs in the mountains on the outskirts of Takamatsu City. He has been diagnosed with developmental and conduct disorders, and has been unable to adapt to a workplace for people with disabilities. A 74-year-old woman takes him on as a personal supporter. She once had the experience of giving up a workplace she had started with the desire to create a place for people with disabilities. The warm relationship in the mountains and the harsh reality they face outside... We looked at the year that these two people, who had fallen out of a welfare workplace for the disabled, spent as they aimed for independence.
