Mélida is a town with more than 700 inhabitants. Its history has been compiled thanks to one of its residents. With Juan Manuel Garde we will walk through its streets and learn about the most important dates such as 1200, when the name of this town first appears. We will also visit the “El Castillo” viewpoint from where you can see the Mink Territory, one of the animal species most at risk of extinction in the world. Mélida is an agricultural town and its products such as broccoli, broad beans and rice are purchased by Navarra freezing companies for international sales. The young farmer Oscar Vaquero will accompany us to the field to talk about the importance of irrigation but also to where one of the most important walnut trees in Navarra is located. And of course, we will visit the AN Poultry Slaughterhouse. A pioneering centre at a European level and whose production is 160,000 chickens a day. Most of the suppliers are from Navarra and other neighbouring communities. They are also sold nationally, but they have opened markets in France and Dubai.
