Today I was out and about with my stand-up paddle (SUP) on the Stockstadt-Erfelder Altrhein on a circular tour around the Kühkopf Knoblochsaue. Here in southern Hesse you can see an unexpectedly beautiful natural idyll from a canoe, kayak or SUP. This is the home of the black kite, which has the largest population in Europe on the island. And that is something special for a species that is already threatened with extinction. I have also never seen as many swans as here on this tour. But just take a look for yourself.
