Sunday sermon from the book of Exodus 7 [7] 1-13 & from the letter to the Hebrews 3 [3] 1-19, on 27/10/2024, speaker Sotiris Stergios ---------- ---------------------------------- Excerpts from Scripture: Exodus 7 [7] 1-13 1) And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I have made you God the Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother will be your prophet; 2) you will speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother will speak to the Pharaoh, to send the children of Israel out of his land; 3) and I I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt; 4) but Pharaoh will not obey you and I will lay my hand on Egypt and I will bring my troops, my people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt with great judgments; 5) and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out my hand over Egypt and bring the children of Israel out of of these. 6) And Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded them; so they did. 7) And Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh. 8) And the Lord said to Moses, and to Aaron, saying, 9) When Pharaoh said to you, saying, You have shown a miracle; then you will say to Aaron, Take your rod and throw it before Pharaoh; and it will be done snake 10) So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and did as the Lord commanded; and Aaron threw his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent. 11) And Pharaoh also called the wise men and the magicians; and the magicians of Egypt did likewise with their tributes. 12) For they cast down every man his rod, and became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. 13) And Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as the Lord spoke. ------------------------------------------- To Hebrews 3 [3 ] 1-19 1) Hence, holy brothers, sharers of the heavenly invitation, understand the apostle and high priest of our confession, Jesus Christ, 2) who was faithful to him who made him, as well as Moses and all his house. 3) Because this man was honored with more glory than Moses, as he who built it has more honor than the house. 4) Because every house is built by someone, and the one who built everything is God. 5) And Moses himself was faithful to all his house as a healer, as a testimony to those who were deceived, 6) and Christ as a Son over his house, whose house we are, if we keep to the end the pride and the boasting of it hope. 7) Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will listen to his voice, 8) do not harden your hearts as in the bitterness in the day of temptation in the wilderness, 9) where your fathers tested me, with they tried and saw my works forty years; 10) therefore they were displeased And to that generation they said: They always go astray in their hearts, and they have not known my ways. you wicked heart of unbelief, so that you turn away from the living God, 13) but exhort one another every day, while it is called today, so that none of you become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin; 14) for we become partakers of Christ, if we hold the principle of conviction to the end with certainty, 15) while it is said; Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as it is I am bitter. 16) For some, after hearing, persecuted him, but not all those who came out of Egypt through Moses. 17) Forty years were not spent in you? not to the sinners, whose asses you fell in the desert? 18) To whom did he boast that they would not enter into his rest, but to those who promised him? 19) And we see that through unbelief they were not able to enter. --------------------------------------------- Amen
