Sunday Sermon from the Gospel according to John 15 [15] 1-, on 27/10/2024, speaker Philemon Togias ------------------------ ------------------- Excerpts from the Bible: According to John 15 [15] 1-17 1) I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman . 2) Every vine in me that does not bear fruit, he cuts it off, and everything that bears fruit, he cleans it, so that it may bear more fruit. 3) Now you are clean because of the word I spoke to you. 4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the vine cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. 5) I am the vine, you are the vines. He that abideth in me and I in him, he beareth much fruit, for without me ye can do nothing. 6) If he does not keep them in me, he is thrown out to the vine and dries up, and they gather and are thrown into the fire and are burned. 7) If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you. 8) In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you want to be my disciples. 9) As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain in my love. 10) If you keep my commandments, you want to remain in my love, as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love. 11) These things I have spoken to you so that my joy may remain in you and your joy may be complete. 12) This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13) No one has greater love than to lay down his soul for his friends. 14) You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15) I no longer call you servants, because the servant does not know what his master is doing; and I called you friends, because everything I heard from my Father, I have revealed to you. 16) You were not chosen by me, but I chose you, and I commanded you to submit and bear fruit, and your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you this. 17) This I command you, to love one another. --------------------------------------------- Amen
