Surrounded by the long sandy beaches of the town of Playa del Ingles on Gran Canaria, 26-year-old emigrant Bianca has fulfilled her dream of owning her own restaurant. But things are anything but perfect at "Shorty's Beach Club": mother Birgit (49) is fighting all alone in the kitchen with her 30-year-old expertise from her cooking apprenticeship, while the waitresses don't always take their duties so seriously. In summer, mother and daughter try to make the party guests happy, in winter the pensioners. But the constant contradictions not only fuel the conflict between mother and daughter, but also hardly bring in any money during the cold months. Can the cooking professionals Frank Oehler, Mike Süsser and Ole Plogstedt bring the sunshine and good mood back to "Shorty's Beach Club"?
