On a stormy autumn day, Werner Schmidbauer and his guest DJ Ötzi ("A star that bears your name") set off up the 1,042 meter high Nockstein near Salzburg. Born in Tyrol, whose real name is Gerry (Gerhard) Friedle, he has been a Salzburg resident for many years and, as he climbs, tells Schmidbauer about his early experience as an unloved child who was given away to foster parents by his mother after birth. When he was three years old, his grandparents took him to live with them in Ötz, a small village in Tyrol. There he grew up as an outsider, weak and shy, and was excluded by his classmates. Friedle suffers from epileptic fits and after his apprenticeship as a chef he runs away from home, living for a while as a homeless person under bridges before a girlfriend rescues him from his life as a "bum". Gerry Friedle makes a living as a DJ and is then diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of 19. Friedle tells Werner Schmidbauer his story completely openly until the hurricane-like storm combined with Gerry's fear of heights makes another summit climb impossible and forces the two to turn back to a lower meadow, sheltered from the wind. Here the two have a quiet snack and Friedle tells of his sudden and completely unexpected success as "Anton from Tyrol", his meteoric career as DJ Ötzi and his late happiness as a husband and father of a daughter. At the end of the "summit meeting" Schmidbauer picks up the guitar and Gerry Friedle sings a verse of his ballad "Live your dream" from his latest album. ★ http://bit.ly/von-herzen-albumplayer Facebook: / djoetzi Youtube: / djÖtziofficial Instagram: / dj_oetzi Website: http://www.djoetzi.de/
