Traditionally, it has been thought that addictions are related to certain substances and that addictions only affect a specific group, not the vast majority. However, the current digital age has brought to light many new forms of addiction. Social media, porn, gambling, shopping and other addictions are becoming familiar to many people, and this raises the question of what addictions are really about? How is addiction related to being human, what do we seek from addictions and why are addictions possible for everyone? The topic will be discussed in Studio Krypta's summer party studio by family counselor and doctor of theology Jari Kekäle, and Lauri Gummerus, who works as a corresponding instructor at the substance abuse and gambling addiction outpatient clinic.
