The electricity bills of Thai people are actually a result of the country's Power Development Plan (PDP) that determines the cost and structure of the electricity system and is passed on as the electricity bills of all Thais. Recently, in December 2024, there was a press conference from the Energy Reform for Sustainable Development Group (ERS) that wanted to point out that the draft PDP 2024 plan, which will determine the future of Thai electricity in the next 20 years, still has many observations that Thais should know. Thai electricity still imports LNG gas, which may make electricity prices more expensive; the Thai electricity system that still has a single buyer and has not yet led to free electricity and green electricity; and the Thai electricity business structure that has not yet become fully competitive. This leads to the question of whether this is really the future of Thai electricity that is good for all Thais.
