The attempts of her relative, the matchmaker Umm Faisal, to convince her to marry her son fail, until the matchmaker decides to challenge Umm Sulaiman and cooperate with her widowed relative Taiba to marry her to Sulaiman by trickery and convincing his mother that she is old and cannot have children. Umm Sulaiman finally agrees, and after the marriage, Umm Sulaiman discovers that Taiba is not old, and then the skirmishes begin between Umm Sulaiman on the one hand and Taiba and her children.
