Filmmakers Sueli and Isael Maxakali, from the Maxakali people, talk about the issue of land, which is becoming increasingly scarce as the population grows, in addition to the scarcity of natural resources, which makes planting and water availability difficult. Despite all the difficulties, the Maxakali culture remains practically intact. The filmmakers also talk about the use of cinema as a tool for communicating with non-indigenous peoples, a way of showing the richness of their culture and trying to reduce prejudice. Testimonies recorded during the Mekukradjá event – Circle of Knowledge of Indigenous Writers and Filmmakers, in September 2016, in São Paulo/SP.
