The seventh division withdrew from the Levina and Barany fronts to the north of Syväri on the 17th-18th. June 1944. The departure was carried out secretly from the Soviet forces, therefore a lot of supplies were left behind Syväri in ETP warehouses. The retreat continued towards Äänislinna on June 22. The Light Division of Ahti Vuorensola, a knight of the Mannerheim Cross, was left as a delaying division, and men were recruited from several companies of the second battalion. Vuorensola was wounded in the head and hand at Soutjärvi, but was able to lead his division and fight back to join his own troops. In addition, in the battle of Soutjärvi, six men of his division fell and twenty men were wounded. In June 1944, I will talk about the delaying battles of the Vuorensola department in a video, and at the same time we will get to know the scenery of the Ääninen beach road with the help of old photos. I have processed the black and white photos into color photos with photo editing programs. In these landscapes presented in the video, I have been on familiarization trips, e.g. in 2015 and 2019. My father served on the Levina front (II/JR 9) under captain Ahti Vuorensola until the summer of 1944. I have made a book about his military path called; Men of Levina (2015). #Syväri #Kumpu #Äänisenkanava #Äänisjärvi #Äänislinna #Voznesenja #Kallio #Soutjärvi #Soksu #Petäjäselkä #Latva #Vuorensola #Iisakson #
