Born in Olaria, Rio de Janeiro, Paulinho Rezende began composing for festivals in Campos, the city where he grew up. He came to Rio with the dream of becoming a composer. After working as a bookseller and in nightclubs, he got an opportunity on TV Tupi, where he had a successful marchinha. Since then, he has had songs that have been celebrated by great MPB artists.
