Myrhia and I both decided to stay at our regular schools despite our progressive loss of sight. A decision that clearly did not mean an easy path. We were both the only severely visually impaired students in our classes and as well developed as the concept of inclusion has become, our actual realities showed the challenges that still have to be overcome. In this video, Myrhia in particular talks about her experiences, reports on class protests, stubborn teachers and allegations of malingering from her school career. The discussion surrounding big topics such as inclusion or special schools is of course highly complex, and this video is merely a subjective report of experiences. So please feel free to share your experiences too. Did you go to special schools? Or did you stay at your regular schools? And how did you experience school with a visual impairment? /// This channel is about my life with severe visual impairment (Stargardt's disease macular degeneration). I share my thoughts and perspectives with you, and would be very happy if you do the same in the comments! If you know people who are affected themselves or are simply interested in learning more about this topic, please share this video!
