Each molecule can be formed by a group of atoms of the same chemical element or by different chemical elements. We know that matter is formed by atoms, which occupies space and has mass. This can be found in solid, liquid and gaseous states. Atoms bond to form compounds, because they reach their stability, and depending on how the substances are formed they can be classified as simple and compound. Two or more different substances can come together to form a mixture. Mixtures can occur in solid, liquid, and gaseous states and do not have defined formulas. Examples include atmospheric air, mineral water, bronze, etc. Mixtures can be classified as homogeneous or heterogeneous. Homogeneous mixtures have only one phase and there is no distinction between their components. They are classified as monophasic. For example, we have a glass of water and a little sugar. We mix it well and we cannot see where the sugar or the water is, because we see a single structure. Homogeneous mixtures are called solutions.
