Steinort Castle, or Sztynort in Polish, is located in Poland in the north of the Great Masurian Lake District. It was owned by the von Lehndorff family until 1944 and is an outstanding monument of the shared German-Polish cultural heritage. The castle and park complex is one of the most valuable baroque ensembles in Masuria and historical East Prussia. Due to neglect, the castle has almost become a ruin in the past 20 years and the park has become completely overgrown. People from both nations interested in culture have come together under the umbrella of the DPS/PNF to save Steinort. To this end, the PNF took over the castle in 2009. In 2010, the Lehndorff Society Steinort eV was founded with the aim of overseeing the restoration work, finding sponsors and collecting donations, and helping to develop and implement the concept for the new use. http://lehndorff-gesellschaft-steinor... http://www.deutsch-polnische-stiftung... / 195258587248224 Donation account: Lehndorff-Gesellschaft Steinort eV Deutsche Bank Berlin IBAN: DE46100700240062373600 BIC: DEUTDEDBBER Purpose: Steinort Castle Donation receipts are issued by the Lehndorff-Gesellschaft Steinort eV ℅ Dr. Uwe Heckert Buschriede 47 30419 Hannover.
