Probably the most famous locomotive series that was produced in the Czechoslovak Republic. It is an express locomotive for heavy passenger trains and not only that. These steam locomotives were so powerful that they were also used on fast freight trains. The production of these machines took place between the years 1947 - 1951, a total of 147 pieces were produced. The last 25 went to North Korea. The locomotives earned the nickname Šlechtična from railwaymen for their reliability and economy. The last machines of this series entered regular service in 1980.
