Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the steam locomotive giant represented an absolute revolution for the SNCF after the war. Since the French locomotive fleet was severely decimated, robust and universally applicable Mikado locomotives were ordered from the USA. The first series of 700 locomotives was delivered in 1945, followed by a second series of 640 locomotives by 1947. The 141 R was used in many types of trains and was particularly popular for heavy freight and express trains. Nine of these locomotives still exist today, including the 141 R 1244, which is preserved in Switzerland as an operational vintage vehicle. _____ ▰ Sound The excellent sound brings the Mikado to life and makes the brilliant two-cylinder staccato a real model railway highlight. ▰ Authenticity Down to the last detail.
