Being a detective - for many children, it's a dream job. For some adults, hunting thieves is part of their everyday work. Robin accompanies two people who lie in wait in the hardware store every day to catch thieves or people who are trying to steal. And you'd better not mess with them... The two detectives are called Stefan and Miriam Wolloscheck and they are not only married, but also a well-rehearsed team in their jobs. Together, the Wolloschecks ensure that thieves don't have a chance to steal from the hardware store. The private detectives rely on teamwork: Miriam sits in the surveillance room and operates the camera system, Stefan keeps an eye out during the rounds. The investigators are in constant contact. Under the observation of these four eyes, beginners and professionals have no chance of stealing! Stealing in Germany is a problem for the retail sector. According to police crime statistics, a whopping 353,384 shoplifting incidents were reported in 2017. According to these statistics, customers, employees, suppliers and service staff caused damage amounting to 3.5 billion euros, of which 2.28 billion euros came from customers alone. DIY stores are also suffering increasing losses; items from the electrical, ironmongery/security technology, tools/machinery and tiles categories are particularly often stolen. It sounds like an unwieldy item to steal at first, but it quickly disappears into a pocket, as Robin discovers. But not only theft itself, but also funny excuses, trysts and doing business in unlocked garden sheds are part of the everyday life of detectives. How do you actually become a detective? What does the classic profile of a perpetrator, i.e. the classic thief, actually look like? What rights do store detectives have when they catch a perpetrator stealing? And what tips and tricks do Stefan and Miriam have in their repertoire when hunting down beginners or professionals when it comes to stealing? Robin finds out in his new documentary for “follow me.reports” - and gets a free karate lesson as well. _______________ IN THE VIDEO: Robin (RobBubble) on YouTube: / robbubble Robin (RobBubble) on Instagram: / robbubble SOURCES: EHI Retail Institute eV: www.ehi.org MUSIC: Cristobal Tapia De Veer - “Utopia” Quincy Jones - “Soul Bossa Nova” Dizzee Rascal - “Ghost” Tyler, The Creator Feat.
