On my way through to the Vogelfluglinie, I stopped off for a few hours at Hamburg Central Station. With 14 tracks (12 of which have platforms), this is not exactly the largest station in Germany. However, it is the busiest station. And yes, there is certainly no shortage of passengers here. But there is also no shortage of trains. Several regional trains and express trains end and turn here - many tracks are double-occupied here to increase capacity. And long-distance traffic also plays a major role here. In addition to the standard Deutsche Bahn trains (ICE of all types and IC), there are also a few exotic ones to discover - e.g. the IC 3 of the Danish State Railways, EuroCitys of the Czech Railways and the FlixTrain. Unfortunately, I had no luck with the latter. Well – what can you do… There were a few treats too: • a Voith Gravita 10 BB • a transfer of IC carriages including 3 BR 101 locomotives • an unexpected freight train with BR 101 • a shunting track work vehicle • the parked 215 082 • the IC to Fehmarn-Burg with a 218 • a couple of rubber noses from the DSB (IC 3) But why am I beating around the bush – you can see this in detail: ???? 112 169 with Dosto, parked on track 9 ???? 112 174 with Dosto, shunting ???? 182 024 with Dosto, Hanse-Express to Rostock ???? 146 538, metronom, RB 41 from Bremen, entering and leaving ????
