Duy (32) has been a trainee at Südzucker since September 2023. This is a huge sugar producer in Europe. It is Duy's first job as an engineer and his first decent salary: Before that, he studied biotechnology and biomass technology and earned a Bachelor's and Master's of Science degree. The "Technology Traineeship" at Südzucker lasts 18 months. It is intended to prepare students for work in technical management. Every four months, Duy gets to know a different station within the group. He later wants to work at an interface between agriculture and process engineering. There he can optimize processes in order to reuse the soil from sugar beets that accrues during sugar production in an environmentally friendly way. His current station is the sugar factory in Zeitz (Saxony-Anhalt). There he is to further develop a cleaning machine, among other things. This device is used to clean other machines of sugar residues. To do this, Duy has to talk to engineers and other workers in the factory to understand what the machine has to be able to do and how this can be implemented. Duy enjoys it so much that he is happy to work overtime. That's why he doesn't spend much time in the company apartment provided for him. After his long working days, he likes to go to the gym or play chess in the chess club. #salary #engineer #documentary This is "Is it worth it?": One person, one job, one life. And at the end of the day, the question is: Is it worth it? We accompany people in their jobs and show their lives. Is it worth it to work for a salary and use it to finance your own life? What makes me happy at work? We don't just compare salaries, we show how people live from their work. We are always looking for protagonists: If you also want to show how you live with your job, feel free to write to [email protected]! On a personal note: We are not infallible either - and although we make every effort to present every individual financial situation clearly, correctly and understandably, we sometimes need help. The Bavarian State Association of Tax Advisory and Auditing Professions e. V. provides us with expert support in this regard – thank you very much for that!
