Every skywatcher's dream is to see a supernova in their lifetime. For those who don't know, this phenomenon is basically the final moment of a star after several million or even billions of years of fusing hydrogen in its core. As incredible as it may seem, such an event is considered one of the most energetic in the universe, capable of emitting as much light as an entire galaxy and, if it were to occur in any of the stars visible at night, we can be sure that we would have a real show with the naked eye. Unfortunately, most of the stars we have in the sky are not expected to become supernovae in the next few thousand years, but that doesn't mean that other supernovae aren't happening in other places in the universe. In today's video, you will see the incredible explosions of stars that have already been recorded on video.
