How do you cope when the arrival of the baby also represents the worst loss? Saying goodbye to a child that was already stillborn is an incredibly painful process that Loreen also goes through. Her pregnancy is initially happy, without any restrictions or complications. But then: In the weeks before the birth, she feels extreme itching. She consults her gynecologist several times until Loreen finds a suspected diagnosis on the Internet: cholestasis. Her doctor does not take the expectant mother's suspicions and fears seriously. At the check-up appointment, a few days before the expected birth, there is no heartbeat on the CTG. There is no heartbeat on the ultrasound either. Further tests confirm: Kira is no longer alive. To this day, Loreen is plagued by feelings of guilt for not having sought a second opinion. She becomes pregnant again. An emotionally charged time, but daughter Merle is born healthy.
