In the bell towers of the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas, there are 5 beautiful bells hanging, four smaller ones by the Ljubljana Machine Works and Foundries, and the large one by Gašper Franchi. In addition to the large bell, there is also an old bell ringer, which is considered one of the oldest bells in Slovenia, as it was cast in 1328. All the bells have old folding bells and a two-way bell drive via wheels on the yoke. The drive itself is quite violent, especially with the large bell, which often does not ring at all due to a fault in the machine that controls the bells. Unfortunately, the bell ringer has not been ringing for a long time, as evidenced by the excessive patina that has accumulated on the bell over the years. In 2021, the bell tower was thoroughly renovated by the companies KRN doo, Dominik Malovrh sp and Janez Moškrič sp. The entire structure of all bells was renovated, new yokes, bells and bell drive were installed. Bells / peal: 1. Gašper Franchi, 1706, 4132kg, Ø180.5cm, B° -7 2. Machine foundries, 1932, des' -4 3.
