Day of the Dead (Late) First reading (Dan 12, 1-3) I, Daniel, mourned and heard these words of the Lord: "Michael, the great prince of angels, will rise at that time - he will stand for the sons of your people. Then will come a time of trouble such as has not been seen since the beginning of the nations until then. But your people will be saved - everyone who is written in the book. Many will wake up from the sleeping dust in the country: some to eternal life, others to infamy, eternal shame. The wise will shine like the clear sky, and those who teach many the truth will be like the stars forever and ever." Responsorial Psalm (Ps 41, 2-5; 42, 3. 4) P. My soul thirsts for the living God. As a thirsty deer sniffs a stream, so my heart longs for you, God. My soul thirsts for God—the living God: oh, when shall I go and see the face of God? - P. I keep thinking about it, and my heart faints, how I had to go with the crowd, march to the abode of God, with the voices of joy and praise echoing around in a solemn group. - P. Send me your light and truth, let them guide me and lead me to your holy mountain, to your tent. - P. Then I will go to God's altar, to the God of my joy and happiness. There I will sing praises to you, O God, O my God! - P. Second reading (Phil 3, 20-21) Brothers! Our homeland is in heaven, and from there we await the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change our poor body and make it like his glorious body by the power by which he subjects everything to himself. Afterword before the gospel (Jn 6, 39) P. Alleluia. - This is the will of my Father, that I should not kill anyone whom he has entrusted to me, but that I should raise them up on the last day, - says the Lord. - Mr. Alleluia. Gospel (Jn 6, 37-40) Jesus spoke to the crowds: "All whom the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will not reject. I came down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. And the will of my Sender requires that I should not kill any of those whom he has entrusted to me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. This is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; therefore I will raise him up at the last day."
