HERE'S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW We all know that the speed camera detects our speed in a specific place and at a specific time; we know that its presence must be forewarned by a specific signal; and starting from the assumption that speed limits must always be respected, we all know that where there is a speed camera we slow down, sometimes even excessively, and then accelerate again once we have exceeded it. This is a behavior that with the tutor becomes useless, if not even counterproductive, and now I will explain why, and stay until the end of the video because I will give you advice on what to do and what not to do to avoid the risk of being fined and I will also dispel some urban legends that someone had fun inventing. The tutor is a system for monitoring the average speed of a certain stretch of highway, and therefore monitors how long it takes us to travel this stretch, which can have lengths, except in particular situations, that can range from 10 to 25 kilometers, and which is always warned by the appropriate signals. The tutor is made up of two, let's call them DETECTORS, the first placed at the beginning of the stretch of road that you want to check, the second placed obviously at the end. Passing in front of the first, thanks to a series of sensors placed on the pavement and cameras placed above, the device detects our passage and reads the license plate of our vehicle, also identifying its category, since the speed limits are not the same for all types of vehicles, and it will note, very importantly, the time at which we passed in front of it. Further ahead, at a distance that as we have seen can range from ten to twenty-five kilometers, we will find the second detector, which again thanks to the appropriate sensors and cameras will ascertain our passage, checking the time again and comparing it with that of the first detector. The time it took us to travel the stretch of road between the first and the second detector, will give the average speed at which we went. The best way obviously to avoid being fined by the tutor, is to maintain a more or less constant speed and always within the maximum limits. By passing on the emergency lane do we manage to escape the eyes of the tutor? Absolutely not, and we would also risk a fine of 422 to 1,697 euros, plus the deduction of 10 points from the license and its suspension from 2 to 6 months. It must also be kept in mind that the tutor, in some cases, can also be used as a normal speed camera to detect the instantaneous speed when passing by the detector. The data say that already after the first year of operation, dating back to 2015, there was a decrease in the accident rate, so much so that the Autostrade speak of a -50% of the mortality rate and a -27% of the accident rate with injuries on the sections where the Tutor is active, and this data says a lot.
