※ This video is from <Korean Travelogue - That Winter's Mountain Temple Part 1: It's Bright, Cheongamsa's New Year> broadcast on January 27, 2020. Cheongamsa, a nun's training center located at the foot of Mt. Sudosan in Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk. It is a thousand-year-old temple that is over 1,200 years old, so they didn't even paint the buildings in order to focus solely on training. The new year has come to Cheongamsa, where time has continued for a thousand years. The busiest place is the kitchen where the kitchen god is worshipped, and the offering room where a shiny cauldron hangs. The offering room is also the starting point of training, where greed, anger, and hatred are burned while waiting for the cauldron's tears. While the rice cake soup is bubbling in the offering room, the nuns gather together to make dumplings. Cheongamsa's signature dumplings shaped like fallen leaves. They press down with the lid of the kettle to make skin and put their heart and soul into them. For a practitioner, wasn't even cooking a meal a form of training? On the first day of the new year after arduous preparations, tteokguk is offered in front of the Buddha, and the monks bow to each other with respect and renew their minds as practitioners.
