The Arcachon Basin is a unique space in Europe, a lagoon that empties and fills twice a day, to the rhythm of the tides. This small inland sea offers breathtaking landscapes. But today, Raphaëlle Brenuchon invites you to go beyond the postcard, to meet those who live and work in this territory where nature imposes its rhythm. The landscapes of the Arcachon Basin have been shaped by nature but also by human activity, particularly oyster farming. Two meetings will allow us to understand that this profession has multiple facets! Ingrid Olivier who produces spat, baby oysters, and Nicolas Checa, a young oyster farmer who has just set up, who is experimenting with a surprising technique, brought back from his trip to Australia. It is because they wanted to promote another emblematic activity of the Arcachon Basin: fishing, that Julien Marcotte and Bénédicte Baggio created "Fumette", their artisanal fish smokehouse, in Lège-Cap-Ferret. Finally, we take you behind the scenes of the Dubourdieu shipyard. Emmanuel Martin is at the head of this institution labeled "living heritage company" and which has existed for more than two hundred years. Today, it is one of the last places in France where high-end and custom-made wooden boats are manufactured, in particular the famous pinasse, symbol of the Arcachon Basin.
