My guest today is Sophia Fritz. Sophia Fritz is an author and writer, but also a trained end-of-life counselor, tantric masseuse and sexual companion. She also completed a screenwriting degree at the Munich Film School. And she is only 27 years old. Her book “Toxic Femininity” has just been published, and I read it through in one go with great enthusiasm. In it, Sophia examines our social image of femininity, the conditioned roles that women are stuck in and how these ensure that we maintain dangerous power relations in society as a whole - often without noticing or knowing it. Above all, she gets to the bottom of her very personal emotions and beliefs on the subject of (toxic) femininity and is incredibly honest in doing so. I wanted to know from her why she wrote this book and what it did to her, when something becomes toxic and what it means to be a feminist. We talk about shame and consent, about body image and pride, it's about victim stories and abuse of power.
