In photography something can always happen that changes your day, especially in landscape photography, in the mountains, in the woods, at the seaside, in inaccessible areas where a sudden change in the weather changes the light. A day like those that start with many good intentions but complicated by continuous changes in the weather. It was supposed to be sunny, and in fact there was, but in the space of 20 minutes everything changed. Low, heavy, black clouds, with little light. So I waited a long time in the car trying to understand the weather changes from the satellite. Then I decided to go down into the valley, heading south where the clouds could dissolve in the early afternoon. I wasn't sure what to do, then on the maps I spotted a railway bridge that must have been large, several spans on two levels that rise from a deep gorge. Well, I thought, if I'm ready for the first ray of sunshine I could take a nice photo. Nearby I saw a site with the ruins of an ancient castle, where I could continue the photographic service and I headed there. I found a deep gorge crossed by a river, very thick vegetation, impervious and wild areas, with strong contrasts of light. The weather didn't improve much but it allowed me to discover a magical place with the ruins of a mighty castle perched on a rock.... an extraordinary place. I worked hard, but I had fun.
