I took a plane and a bus from downtown Tokyo on a solo trip to Kumamoto! This time, I went to Kumamoto for the first time on the first or second day of my long Kyushu trip. I flew to Kumamoto Airport with Solaseed Air. First, I had sushi at a sushi restaurant loved by locals. I enjoyed a lunch course ranging from carefully prepared Edomae sushi to creative and surprising nigiri while enjoying some sake. After that, I took a bus to Sakuramachi and went to a popular izakaya that is open from 11:30 in the afternoon and is popular for its "senbero set". I had some draft beer with some shumai and potato salad as snacks. On the way to the inn to check in, I happened to pass by Suizenji Park and enjoyed the beautiful garden. The inn has a luxurious sauna that was just built in 2023. The cold bath using natural water from Kumamoto was amazing. I took a nap and then headed back to the city of Kumamoto. At a long-established izakaya that represents Kumamoto, I enjoyed the rice shochu that the locals drink with local dishes such as horse sashimi and mustard lotus root as snacks. The staff were really kind and the drinks just kept coming... (laughs) The next day, we went to the private sauna, something we had been looking forward to since early in the morning. The interior and hospitality were reminiscent of a luxury inn, and we could even do a self-louver using lava from Mt. Aso, and enjoy a superb cold water bath with natural water from Kumamoto... it was a very satisfying sauna experience, allowing us to spend our time in a luxurious way that only a private sauna can. After the sauna, we checked out immediately and headed for the highway bus heading to Takachiho... It was my first time in Kumamoto, but there was lots of delicious food, the water was tasty and soft (in the cold water bath), and the people were warm. After two days and one night, I fell in love with Kumamoto! I hope this can be of some help to everyone on their Kumamoto trip! ~ Shops and tourist spots visited this time ~ [Store] Shoroku / Sushi restaurant https://maps.app.goo.gl/8uqo5jFEt8bsn... I love hot springs, inns, delicious food, and alcohol, so I travel to various places several times a year and deliver recommended information in the form of videos. I often travel alone and love to have a leisurely dinner and breakfast at an inn. Since I basically base my trips on drinking, I often travel by train or bus. I also enjoy bar hopping, so if I come across a good izakaya on my travels, I will introduce it to you. I hope I can be of some help to you on your fun trips. [Self-introduction] I started writing a bar hopping blog under the writer name "Bottle Beer Leader" around 2013. Since around 2017, I have also been writing a blog called "Sushi Romance" that specializes in counter sushi. Recently, I have been very interested in private hot springs and inn food, so I decided to share it in a new form called Vlog. I run a standing bar and record shop "Nomiya Elfful" in Shindaita and a small standing bar "Nishiogi Elffuling" in Nishi-Ogikubo.
