Today I'm going to share with you four different ways to play a Soca rhythm on the electric guitar. We'll see how to develop it, what aspects you have to focus on and how to work it with a metronome. Soca is a rhythm from Trinidad and Tobago, its main characteristic is that it moves all the time on the downbeats and downbeats of the bar, which makes it have very characteristic accents and sounds. The first thing we'll see in the lesson is how to focus on the downbeats and how with the help of the metronome we can identify if we're doing the rhythm right or wrong, since we should always go against it. If at any time we sound in sync it's because we're doing the pattern wrong. We're going to develop a basic Soca rhythm, then on this rhythm we'll make some variations, we'll move some notes in order to generate rhythmic possibilities on this Caribbean style.
