Snow in November: not uncommon in the Alps. But nobody expected such amounts here either! A strong Adriatic low brought days of snowfall and rain to the south of Austria. Many valleys were cut off from the outside world. Landslides and fallen trees caused road closures and widespread power outages. For two days we accompanied the Gumpi team from East Tyrol on their winter service and in the removal of storm damage. A total of 12 Steyr tractors are in use with snow plows, spreaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, low loaders and logging trailers. In addition, a Liebherr wheel loader is used for snow clearing. The highlight is definitely the Steyr Terrus 6300 CVT, which clears the country road in the Tyrolean Gailtal of the masses of snow with a large Kahlbacher KFS 1150 snow blower. But the smaller Steyr CVT 6230 and Steyr CVT 6240 are also in their element. The drivers from the Gumpi Team show what is important at work.
