Icelandic horses are bred at the Vorsenzhof in Stutensee. Once a year, very young Icelandic horses from all over Baden-Württemberg come together as part of the foal journey to be examined by critical examiners for the first time. Here, the foals must show that they can master all gaits. For this breed of horse, this includes not only walking, trotting and galloping, but also tölting and racing pace. The Icelandic ponies can reach speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour. The critical point of the test, however, is when the foals are separated from their mothers for a short time. This is when the character of the offspring is revealed. Become a fan on Facebook: / landesschau.bw Official homepage: http://www.SWR.de/landesschau-bw Instagram: / swrheimat YouTube: / landesschau
