Once launched, they transform into creatures with special powers. Eli Shane is still a child when his father disappears. When he was 15, determined to succeed him, Eli descends into Slugterra: the underground worlds for the first time with a small creature, the famous Slug Inferna named Burpy who was his father's best friend. Slugterra is a world under the Earth's surface completely isolated. All the people who live there have in their possession Slugs, small creatures resembling slugs. Eli will soon make new friends among humans and Slugs: Pronto is a taupoid, Trixie is a young girl always carrying her camera and Kord is a cave troll wanting to go on an adventure with Slugs. With them, Eli will enter a tournament, live adventures and fight the infamous Professor Thaddeus Blakk and his plan to turn all Slugs into ghouls. In the depths of the underground world of SlugTerra where ammunition is alive and only the fastest survive, Eli Shane is determined to become the greatest slug thrower of all time! These can transform into magical fighting beasts when propelled out of powerful blasters! Eliott "Eli" Shane: The main hero of the series who grew up on the surface, always dreaming of the day his father would take him to SlugTerra to become The Shane - a slug-throwing hero who protects this incredible underground world from evil. When William "Will" Shane goes missing, it is up to Eli to arrive at SlugTerra only on his fifteenth birthday, as well as learn how to become the best slug thrower.
