In 2011, Dr. Gilbert André, head of the Puy en Velay pain consultation, contacted the APICIL Foundation. In his consultation, he was particularly interested in people suffering from fibromyalgia syndrome. Fibromyalgia syndrome is a public health problem affecting 2.2% of the French population (Orientation report: adult fibromyalgia syndrome, HAS of July 2010). The consequences are multiple and direct, both in terms of quality of life and on a psychological and social level. The project presented in this video aims to integrate into the care a global approach to this chronic pain syndrome by non-drug techniques (balneotherapy, relaxation, rehabilitation to physical effort) without therapeutic escalation. One of the particularities of this program: the search for sleep disorders. This axis, usually little explored, may not be without links to chronic pain... The Foundation intervened for 3 years to support the implementation of the program and its evaluation. Today, the program is sustainable and funded by the establishment. fondation-apicil.org
