The state is doing a terrible job, but for my business it doesn't matter whether Babiš or Fiala is in power, says Radim Jančura, owner of the RegioJet group, who was a guest on Pavel Štrunec's Echo podcast. The entrepreneur is used to overcoming obstacles, he claims, adding that the fundamental problem for the transport business was expensive energy and interest rates. When you borrow at seven percent, it makes no sense to do business. You can't develop, he adds. And there was also talk about whether values have a place in business. "Definitely yes, but to a reasonable extent. It's clear that we shouldn't take gas and oil from Russia, but the market should work and you should make decisions based on price," thinks Jančura. Does the owner of the RegioJet group still have political ambitions? "I'm a political activist, I definitely know that I won't go into politics. I'm not a managerial type, I'm a soloist and an excellent controller and strategist with an eye for mistakes, but I can't lead a team. If anything, I would have to set up my own party." In the interview, Jančura also talks about the fact that his company was actually saved by Robert Šlachta. "Šlachta was a fantastic cop and will be a great Minister of the Interior, politics is not about parties, but about people. Even the prime minister has to micromanage sometimes," he says, and claims that RegioJet is no longer for sale, as he once stated in an interview that he wanted to sell the company. "On the contrary, I decided to give shares to the best people around me so that the company would be viable even without me and maybe even with my daughter." RegioJet is currently attracting new employees with a salary of 80 thousand and a recruitment contribution of up to 200 thousand. "I say add people, that's the only way we will have the best employees. During Covid, I withdrew from the company and the company stopped being me, now I've returned to it, I still have something to give. "If we want to attract employees from our competitors, they need to see that I'm not an idiot and that they can trust us," says Jančura, talking about the fact that he cannot achieve his goals without the best people.
