In this video, I talk about how I gradually changed the landscape of my plot, located on a slope. First of all, I built a reinforced concrete retaining wall between my plot and the right neighbor's plot. At this point, our plots went downhill and rested against the road, which is about 1 m higher. Thus, I managed to level half of the plot, raising its level relative to the road so that spring melt and rainfall would not accumulate on my plot in the lowland. Secondly, I cut off the upper part of the plot by about 1 m - 1.2 m and distributed this soil down the slope. This allowed me to significantly level the plot and place a more or less horizontal vegetable garden and garden on it, without the need to arrange terraces like my neighbors. At the same time, this required building another retaining wall between my and the "back" upper plot. So that the soil from the upper plot gradually does not slide down to my vegetable garden. At the same time, this retaining wall is the foundation for the fence between the plots. I did all this in the first years of exploitation of the plot. And now I have demolished the old bathhouse, driven in a tractor and cut down the hill on which it stood. This was the last untouched corner of the plot, which had not been used in any way until now. There is a separate review about the demolition of the bathhouse. And in this video I talk about the important moments of the excavations. 1. Unexpectedly faced the problem of the tractor entering the plot. I forgot that I myself raised the ground level to reduce the gap between the gates. KamAZ trucks drive through. But the tractor was 20 cm short. I had to not only dig the entrance under the gas pipe again, but also hammer the frozen soil with a hydraulic hammer. 2. There is very little unoccupied space on the plot. In order to fit the tractor and KamAZ in a small free area, I had to “play Tetris” and roll the soil from place to place in several steps. 3. A young apple tree located in the immediate vicinity of the excavation site was slightly damaged. 4. It was not possible to pull several huge boulders out of the frozen ground. I decided to dig them out with a shovel when the ground thaws and then either dig them out or cut off the protruding parts with a grinder and a jackhammer. 5. The entire procedure cost 13 thousand rubles. Of which, 3 thousand rubles were three trips of 10 cubic meters of KamAZ + 10 thousand rubles for the excavator's work. In principle, I was satisfied with the result. Next, I will tidy up here. I will dig everything up again with a shovel when the ground thaws. And I will pour new retaining walls from reinforced concrete. Then I will build a new fence and most likely put a couple of greenhouses in this place.
