Hello, since our hives have reached sufficient strength, we have started queen production work. I divided an eight-slat bee on 21.03.2023. I divided the queen bee into three slats with two closed brood and one broodless comb. (Births have started in closed brood and since there are no broods in the third slat, there is no question of the bee chilling the brood.) There are 5 slats of bees left in the main hive bed. The part left without a queen will form queen cells for us. Since the cells will be made from larvae, our first queen bees will be born on the 14th day. Queen births will continue on the 15th and 16th days. In this process, are older larvae used instead of one-day-old ones? If this is the case, will the quality of the queen decrease? I have made these types of divisions dozens of times and births have not occurred in any of them before the 14th day. For this reason, I do not break the first closed cells on the 5th day. The choice of the hive is also my choice. Breaking the first closed cells means a loss of three days. Details in the video... Enjoy watching.
