The ZIL-135 is a remarkable vehicle that was developed by the Soviet Army in the 1950s to meet the requirements of new mobile missile systems. The ZIL-135 is characterized by its robust construction and powerful drive technology. The vehicle is powered by two engines that enable it to reach speeds of up to 65 km/h. Each engine drives the wheels on one side. With a total of eight wheels, the ZIL-135 has special steering capabilities, as both the front and rear axles are steerable. The drive power is transmitted by a complex system of two identical manual transmissions, two transfer cases, several cardan shafts, and eight branch gears and external planetary gears. This technical equipment ensures that the ZIL-135 can operate reliably even under difficult conditions.
