During the last ice age, the Adriatic Sea as we know it today did not exist in Italy, Sardinia and Corsica were a single large island and Sicily and Calabria were connected: but how do we know what our country was like at the time of the last glaciation? Spoiler: pollen, fossils, the radiometric dating method and the study of marine terraces have something to do with it. In this video we show the differences between today's Italy and that of 20 thousand years ago and explain how we have reconstructed the geological past of our country by going back to how it was during the last glacial period.
