Whether it's the headscarf ban for teachers or the banning of crucifixes from classrooms - the handling of religious symbols in state institutions has been hotly debated again and again recently. Since the European Court of Justice's ruling in July 2021, employers are now allowed to prohibit their employees from wearing a headscarf, for example.
