2020 mountain bikes often have one of the new Shimano 1x12 gears installed. BIKE shows you how to perfectly adjust the rear derailleur of a Shimano XT in just a few simple steps. Current twelve-speed drives (regardless of whether Shimano 1x12/2x12 or Sram Eagle) have a small distance between the individual pinions and are therefore particularly sensitive. Often just half a turn on the corresponding adjusting screws is enough to ensure flawless function. You therefore have to work your way towards the perfect setting in small steps. Using a Shimano XT 1x12 gear (M8100) as an example, we show you how to adjust the rear derailleur correctly.
