The second day of my solo trip to Shimane starts at Tamatsukuri Onsen, where the hot springs will leave your skin smooth and beautiful! I'll look up at the national treasure Matsue Castle in a kimono, try the Fumai school of tea ceremony, and stroll around the castle town while enjoying Matsue's soul food, katsu rice, and Japanese sweets from Matsue, one of Japan's three great confectionery towns. I recommend the Horikawa Pleasure Boat, which tours the water city, as it's surprisingly fun! There are also plenty of other highlights, such as the Adachi Museum of Art, Japan's best garden, and the sunset over Lake Shinji, one of Japan's 100 best sunsets!
