A trip to the hidden hot springs of Shimane Prefecture. Okuizumo Yumura Onsen, a hidden hot spring in Okuizumo dating back 1,300 years ago to the Nara period, is a part of the Izumo no Kuni Fudoki. For lunch, we had soba noodles at the station in Kamedake, the setting of the masterpiece novel "Sand Vessel" by Matsumoto Seicho, then stopped by the roadside station Sake Brewery Okuizumo Exchange Center, and then went to Okuizumo Yumura Onsen Yunouekan, a stately hot spring with stone walls that we visited again.
