Abdul Hamid Kishk (1933 - 1996). An Egyptian blind Islamic scholar and preacher, nicknamed the Knight of the Pulpits and the Lawyer of the Islamic Movement, and is considered one of the most famous preachers of the twentieth century in the Arab and Islamic world. He has more than 2000 recorded sermons. He preached for forty years without making a single mistake in the Arabic language. Abdul Hamid bin Abdul Aziz Kishk was born in Shubrakhit in Beheira Governorate on Friday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 13, 1351 AH corresponding to March 10, 1933 AD. He memorized the Quran before the age of ten, then joined the Religious Institute in Alexandria, and in the second year of high school he received a grade of 100%. He also ranked first in the republic in the Azhar secondary school certificate, then joined the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion at Al-Azhar University. He was the first in the college throughout his years of study, and during his university studies he would act as a professor explaining the subjects in public lectures to students at the behest of his professors, many of whom would present their scientific material to him before explaining it to the students, especially the sciences of grammar and morphology.
