"She Defends the Motherland" is a feature film about the participation of a Soviet female patriot in the partisan fight against the fascist occupiers, filmed in 1943 by director Friedrich Ermler based on a script by Alexei Kapler at the Central United Film Studio (Alma-Ata). The premiere took place on May 20, 1943. In 1966, a "new edition" was made at the M. Gorky Film Studio, partially re-dubbed and shortened by more than 20 minutes. Pasha Lukyanova's life was joyful and happy. But the war began. On the very first day, her husband died. The Nazis tore her little son to pieces. And then Praskovia went into the forest, organized a partisan detachment and began to mercilessly take revenge on the enemy for her son, her husband, and her Motherland...
